About

The History of OHMS Cafe & Bar

"It all started with cinnamon rolls, actually. My friends started asking me to make them, and eventually, I started selling them," recalls owner Mary Fuller. From these highly sought after breakfast goodies, Mary quickly earned herself a reputation. Soon, with the encouragement of friends, the single mom went into the catering business with her sister. "I was working an office job at the time and catering on the side. I talked to Jonathan Early, the original owner of OHMS, about letting us rent the kitchen. He said, 'No, but I'll sell you the place.' So, long story made short - I became the owner."

On July 1, 1992, Mary Fuller purchased OHMS and enlisted the help of her children Josh, Leigh, Leslie and Jessica. Josh began working at the cafe as a teenager and took it from cafeteria dinners to fine dining. Leigh cooked many a lunch at the cafe in the late 1990's and has since graduated from Texas Culinary School in Austin. Leslie joined the OHMS staff in 2008 and is following her mother's footsteps by crafting deliciously tempting desserts.

Throughout the years, OHMS has been committed to taking quality ingredients and creatively preparing them to provide a consistently excellent dining experience in a pleasant atmosphere.

In late 2002, Josh Fuller and Alston Farris, another one of Mary's "kids", opened the bar inside OHMS Cafe. In addition to the impressive wine and beer list, the OHMS bar boasts strong drinks and several signature martinis not to be found anywhere else. Pull up a chair, relax and unwind with a pour from the extensive selection.
